GYRO-STABILISED GIMBALS

Airview Fire Recon deploys advanced gyro-stabilised gimbal systems purpose-built to support aerial firefighting, fire intelligence, and all-hazards emergency response operations.

SIX-AXIS STABILISATION

The Shotover M2 features true six-axis stabilisation, delivering rock-solid, vibration-free imagery—even in turbulent conditions typical of wildfire operations.

A key advantage for aerial fire recon is the system’s ability to hold the horizon. This ensures that all live imagery remains correctly oriented, regardless of aircraft movement. For air attack supervisors, intelligence officers, and incident management teams, this reduces operator fatigue and eliminates ambiguity when interpreting fire behaviour, spread direction, and asset locations in real time.

LONG-RANGE FIRE DETECTION
& MONITORING

The stability of the platform enables the effective use of long-range optical and thermal lenses, allowing crews to:

  • Identify fire edges and spot fires at extended distances

  • Monitor fire behaviour without needing to operate directly overhead

  • Maintain safer stand-off distances while still capturing high-detail imagery

This capability supports efficient observation across large and complex incident areas.
