  • Required services

    To supply a fully intergrated multi-sensor daylight and thermal imaging Camera system, helicopter to ground live downlink transmission solution, accurate mapping and geo locational system and trained operators as full time helicopter crew ready for take off within six minutes of notification to be tasked on any fire or reconnaissance tasking throughout the state of Queensland.

    To provide a multi user solution allowing transmition of live visual, thermal and geo locational data to multiple locations and personal, via phone, tablet and/or desk or laptop computers.

  • Scope of work

    Undertake regular reconnaissance sorties throughout the southeast and southwestern regions of Queensland including the major urban interface area’s of the Queensland southeastern coastal strip, as instructed throughout the fire season and to send live visual and geo locational data to operations HQ in Kedron, QLD

    To fly and send reconnaissance daylight and thermal footage on any reported fire event, remaining over site until re tasked to another fire site or de tasked to the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service’s permanent airbase in Toowoomba, QLD, or any other local base of the QFES’s choosing.

    To locate and surveil incidents of arson ignitions and direct Queensland police to persons of interest.

    To record, accurately time stamp and archive all footage collected onboard for future use in training, promotional or coronial inquest cases.

    To fully maintain and service our equipment whilst ensuring the least amount of equipment down time due to maintenace, upgrade or repair.

    To work with, and deliver similar outcomes to various law enforcement agencies as and when requested.

  • Challenges

    There are many challenges to providing a state-of-the-art fire reconnaissance service some of which include: Adverse working and flying conditions, skilled staff acquisition, training and retention, equipment maintenace and reliability, transmission system outages and atmospheric interference, helicopter repairs and maintenance, fuel and accommodation issues in remote locations, continuous improvements and upgrades, Client expectations and communication, and ongoing client training
